It is easy to underestimate how long a ski day takes when the flat is not at the foot of the slopes. Loading the car, finding a space, carrying skis and children: an hour can vanish before the first turn.
In the morning, you leave when you like
At Edelweiss III the gear sleeps in the ground-floor ski locker. You go down, click in, and you are on the piste. Beginners reach the ski school just below, with no walk across the resort.
At lunchtime, going back costs five minutes
That is probably the real luxury: eating in the warm, drying gloves, putting the youngest down for a nap, then heading out again. With small children it completely changes the rhythm of a week.
In the evening, Prapoutel’s shops and restaurants stay within walking distance. The car can stay parked all week.
